Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin are well known for their dictatorship and bloody leadership. They both have lived in the same era especially in World War I and World War II. They both have made unforgettable history in the world. They both use their professions, skills and intelligence to achieve their ambitions and to gain more power. But as humans they have both differences and similarities either in their perspectives, ideologies, professions, skills, etc.

To begin with, Adolf Hitler is the core leader of Nazism Party and chancellor of Germany that initiated World War II. He possessed many skills and profession and is a politician, ideologist, diplomatist, schemer and militarist. He made Germany significantly stronger and prosperous with his policies. Before World War I citizens took part in the Nazi Party because of dissatisfaction in the service of government and poor economy. Hitler seized the hard-earned opportunity to become a leader of Nazi Party. But he really wanted to be a dictator of Germany. Because of his desire for power, Hitler led the Nazi party to participate in untold numbers of unethical activities in order to reinforce his power and status. Hitler in his early years became an extremist who was against Jewish people that he murdered over 6 million Jews (Holocaust). The core value of Nazism is “a superior race has the right to enslave and even exterminate inferior races.” Nazism is opposed to both communism and capitalism. Hitler supports hierarchical Socialism, but it was closer to imperialism.

Joseph Stalin is the Leader and General Secretary of the Soviet Union (Russia). He managed to consolidate power following the death of Vladimir Lenin by suppressing Lenin's criticisms and expanding the functions of his role, all the while eliminating any opposition. Under Stalin's rule the concept of "Socialism in One Country" became a central tenet of Soviet Union. He made a new economic policy leading to industrialization and collectivization that made Soviet Union an industrial power. He then organized and led the "Great Purge", a massive campaign of repression of the party, government, armed forces, etc. in which millions of so-called enemies of the working class were imprisoned, exiled, or executed. Stalin strongly believes on the principle of communism and strongly supports the working class. His desire of power had caused millions dead and influenced the Axis powers in World War II.

They are both leaders that have the most compatible skills and extreme potential to lead a country. But they all wasted it and instead they craved for more power. Their ways have been closely similar but their perspectives and ideologies are different. One is deeply rooted from Nazism and one is extremely dedicated in Communism. They have many war atrocities like killing millions of innocent people in order for their power to be exercised. Also they have made their countries militarily stronger and more economically prosperous. They also differed in the way they got to power because Stalin consolidated power by suppressing his predecessor’s criticisms and expanded the functions of his role and Hitler used his power as a chancellor to gain power over the parliament and change the constitution of Germany. They both have great qualities that may have been used in the most justifiable way but they both didn’t.
